Ed told me that I should consider routing around the
Benicia-Martinez Bridge because it is sometimes extremely windy and that would
suck to have to loop back down and around. Since we started pretty early, we
took a chance and went to the bridge. We got lucky! The wind had not come up
yet. The toll was $25 for our 5-axle rig, but it was well worth it to save the
time and fuel of going around.
Shortly after the bridge, we pulled over and made
COFFEE!
It’s been a long time since we came this way through
this area. It is beautiful. I think Cherrie took about 50 pictures of Mt.
Shasta!
A few more leg-stretch stops and we pulled into the RV
park at noon. Friendly RV Park is pretty nice. Unfortunately, they are no longer
members of Passport America so we won’t be able to come here again. They were
nice enough to honor our Passport America discount this time though. (see, …
“Friendly”!)
A nice overnight spot...

We are leaving the truck hooked up so we can get an
early getaway in the morning. We heated up the Dim Sum that Ed & Alena were nice
enough to send along with us. Oh my, it’s even better than it was yesterday!
