Yet another no travel day - I like this!

This picture reminds me of one of my favorite sayings: "Be the person your dog thinks you are."

Her royal highness on the sun throne...

We walked around Prairie City for a bit, went to the hardware store and picked up some white spooge for the shower fix.

Remember the coffee shop in John Day with the tanning salon?

Well, the one in Prairie City has a tanning salon AND ...

Then we checked out the "Family Friendly Beer Garden" ...

I had a couple of hot dogs and Cherrie tried out the "Walking Tacos".  She thought it would be like street tacos.  Nope, just open up a bag of Doritos, dump in some chili, some tomato, onion, lettuce, sour cream, and VIOLA - Walking Tacos ...

After that little snack we decided to head over to John Day and see what was up.

This is the road from Prairie City towards John Day ...

John Day is the big town.  Prairie City's population is 876!

Couldn't resist a roadside picture of the Thrift Store we visited earlier ...

Then we went to a place that a couple of ladies in that first Thrift Store said we should try next.  Man, there was a LOT of shtuff in that place ...

But I did score this nice Resistol Beaver felt hat ...

And Cherrie picked up some hat/coat hangars for me to install in the RV bedroom.

Here's the road from town back up to the forest...

A dispersed camping spot off the side of the road ...

The Forestry Service has placed a bunch of porta-potties and dumpsters throughout the area ...

More dispersed campers ...

and more ...

And we're back to our camp.  This guy ended up parked about 100 yards from us.  Haven't heard a peep all day.

The Rangers put that road sign up yesterday.  It flashes:

"No Parking On Road"

"No Campfires"

"Extreme Fire Danger"

Fortunatley it's one of those newer ones that use LED lights running off a battery, not the older ones that need a generator running 24/7!
